Once upon a time I lived in an old house.
Since then has passed not one year.
All the residents were known
How ugly was our local cat.

Ugly the cat was always recognizable –
He was one-eyed and one ear.
And he knew how hard the world is,
When you're alone and nobody love.

The severed tail, and a broken paw
Merged under some wrong angle.
And lots of scars.. But was he once
Nice looking striped cat.

The cat has never been touched.
Bottles and stones were thrown at him.
Poured icy water from a hose.
Trying to get rid of from your yard.

And legs he had a clear door
When he tried to enter someone's house.
Pain, lick their wounds
Many times he is under someone's window.

But they were all amazed at how brave
Was this ugly ugly cat.
And if from a hose water it –
He dutifully gets wet, but not depart.

And even when something threw,
He rubbed his feet about asking for affection.
Seeing the children, he rushed after them.
Dreamed of care, but in vain..

He could not understand why in the whole world
Not to meet someone who would be able to shelter.
And even though he is ugly and dirty on the outside
But with a clear mind and knows how to love.

Once the cat was bitten by a dog
That lived across the street in a neighboring yard.
He heard the barking and help the screams.
Went down I'm down – the cat was lying on the ground..

Ugly cat was badly bitten,
The whole body in the blood. He was nearly dead.
Trying to hide from fear and pain,
Curled up in a ball, motionless.

He knew - is the end of a sad life.
And the trail of tears crossed his forehead.
I carried him into the house, he screamed, panting.
To me it became suddenly bad, they beat me the chills..

I've felt how painful it was.
And how hard for him just to breathe.
But suddenly he said to my face stretched
Timidly I tried to lick.

From choking tears, to him I clung.
He clung to the palm of my head.
His eyes suddenly turned to me –
And the cat purred, almost lifeless..

And even through the most severe pain
Asked the cat a bit of love.
One drop of sympathy, that in this life
We have a good heart to save are unable.

I at this moment realized suddenly,
What is the most beautiful and loving one
Who's looking at me now, dying,
The usual ugly street cat.

For the first time he felt someone's care.
He found someone who was able to love.
And happy that I met someone who softens,
Not trying to cause pain...

He died a little earlier than we were home.
I sat at the entrance with a cat in her arms.
Kept it long until it gets dark.
The soul of settled anxiety and fear.

I realized that the poor cripple
I changed in just one moment.
He told me about suffering more
Than thousands of lectures, lessons and books.

He scratched me not body, but soul.
And let in my life a lot of worries
But I for one will only seek -
To learn to love like an Ugly cat...
